About the Role:

We are urgently seeking a skilled and experienced Site Manager to oversee the management of void properties for council work in Newark. The successful candidate will be responsible for surveying, scheduling works, and ordering materials to bring vacant properties up to the required standard for re-letting. A valid SMSTS certification is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of void property refurbishment, from initial survey to final handover, ensuring properties are ready for occupation within agreed timelines.
  • Conduct detailed surveys of void properties to identify required works and create accurate schedules of work.
  • Oversee the ordering and management of materials, ensuring cost efficiency and timely delivery.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and tradespeople, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Regularly inspect work to ensure quality standards are met and address any issues that arise promptly.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, schedules, risk assessments, and safety records.
  • Liaise with council representatives, tenants, and other stakeholders to provide updates and resolve any concerns.
  • Ensure all works are completed within budget and to the required specifications.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager, specifically in managing void properties or similar projects.
  • Strong background in surveying, scheduling works, and ordering materials.
  • Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification is essential.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and building codes.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office.
  • A full UK driving licence is required.
