Assistant Director of Compliance

Camden

£75,000 - £80,000

One of the South East largest and most successful housing associations. They currently own and manage over 17,000 properties which house more that 35,000 residents.

The Role:

Lead all compliance teams to ensure they achieves statutory and regulatory compliance in the top compliance areas of Gas Servicing, Lift Maintenance, Fire Safety, Asbestos, Electrical Testing, Water Management. As well as the wider compliance areas, ensuring we keep our customers and buildings safe.

This level of positions plays a full strategic role in the Operations Directorate, proactively contributing to business planning, budget management, identifying service improvements, harnessing technology to deliver services that demonstrate value for money, achieve high levels of compliance and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The strategic management of the Service and Compliance work stream which is delivered via a mix of DLO and by external contractors
  • Ensuring you meet statutory and regulatory compliance through managing maintenance and inspection contracts for service & compliance areas
  • Collate and report on performance indicators for each compliance work stream
  • Strategic planning and development of the service including developing new policies, procedures and harnessing technology to support service delivery. Continuous improvement and value for money is captured and recommendations for future service delivery reported.
  • Attendance at Executive, Committee and Resident meetings
  • Financial management of budgets including budget setting and the provision of financial information and analysis to monitor contract progress and expenditure to achieve value for money
  • Ensure that statutory compliance contracts are managed efficiently and effectively
  • Take responsibility for compliance with all, health and safety requirements and best practice to minimise risks to residents, contractors and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree and/or professional qualification or equivalent knowledge and experience; Evidence of continuous professional development

Experience:

  • Experience in the leadership of relevant areas of responsibility at a senior management level, within an organisation of comparable scope and complexity
  • Proven record of successful change management, delivering new working policies and practices alongside cultural and structural change
  • Delivering services with a commercial approach
  • People management, performance, development and staff engagement
  • Experience of working in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to deliver improved services and performance
