Job Title - Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Salary - £20k - £35k

Client

An Assistant Quantity Surveyor is needed to join one of our clients a thriving main contractor based in Bromley, involved in various new-build schemes in the Kent and London area. This is a great opportunity to learn from seasoned professionals, that are able to guide and develop you through your professional development in a successful environment. Many of their projects are in the Commercial sector, however they do take on various size jobs in other sectors. They are looking for a keen and enthusiastic individual to join their tight-knit team.

The Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your Commercial Management skills and contract knowledge in a contractor that will drive your personal development forward and give you the opportunity to get involved in large scale refurbishment projects. You will be supporting the senior team in their role ensuring the successful delivery of their client's projects, whilst being encouraged and supported in your professional development.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Prepare and dispatch tender packages to subcontractors
  • Set up job files and all necessary records
  • Collate subcontractor tenders and in consultation with the Contracts Manager, award subcontracts
  • In conjunction with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, check and approve subcontractor claims for payment
  • Liaise with subcontractors to resolve queries
  • Assess and cost variations to contract
  • Update and maintain records
  • Assist with contract valuations
  • Assist with monthly cost/value reconciliations

You will need:

  • Demonstrable experience of Commercial Management/Quantity Surveying principles
  • Relevant Commercial Management/Quantity Surveying Degree or vocational equivalent
  • Ideally a background within a similar Contractor
  • At least 1-2 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role but not essential
