OUR 2026 WORKER OF THE YEAR🎉

Meet Lisa, a traffic marshal from Taunton who has earned exceptional recognition for the vital work she does every day

Lisa manages one of the most demanding roles on any construction site - ensuring the safety of school children on a busy housing development whilst coordinating between three contractors and maintaining positive relationships with the local community.

💬 Gemma Phillips, who nominated Lisa, shared:

"Lisa has to balance being firm when safety is at risk, whilst remaining approachable and calm under pressure. She has this incredible ability to defuse tense situations and keep everyone working together safely (sometimes with Bruno the dog by her side!).

What really stands out is her consistency - no matter how challenging the day, Lisa always has a smile and brings a sense of calm to site. She's someone everyone trusts and respects."

Our Group CEO, Karl Burnett, adds:

💬 "What stood out most in Lisa's nomination wasn't a single achievement - it was the trust and respect she's earned from everyone around her. In a role where you need to be firm on safety whilst keeping relationships positive, Lisa has balanced that perfectly. She brings calm to chaos, manages pressure with grace, and ensures that children, contractors, and the community all feel safe and respected. That's not something you can teach - it's character. Lisa embodies the professionalism and dedication our industry needs, and Daniel Owen is proud that Lisa is out there representing us. Congratulations!"

Congratulations, Lisa. Your professionalism, dedication, and the positive impact you have on everyone around you make you a thoroughly deserving winner.

Daniel Owen's worker of the year for 2026, Lisa, awarded for her construction job efforts in Taunton.
