We're proud to announce that Sophie Rowley, Associate Director at Daniel Owen, has been appointed to the board of Women in Social Housing (WISH) for the South East.

Sophie has nearly a decade of experience recruiting talented professionals across social housing and property services, and brings that expertise to help WISH create real change within the sector.

What Is Women in Social Housing (WISH)?

Established in 1998, WISH was founded to level the playing field for women in social housing.

The founders identified a need for a separate networking group for professional women, an organisation to run regional networks, mentoring schemes, and events that connect professionals and drive change.

More than 25 years later, WISH is now a Community Interest Company (CIC) and is a nationwide organisation that has influenced real change within social housing.

What Sophie Brings to WISH

In her role at Daniel Owen, Sophie shapes careers, advises clients on inclusive hiring strategies, and spots emerging talent.

Through these conversations, she gains a unique perspective on what helps women stay in their roles and what drives them to leave.

Her knowledge of current staffing trends and direct feedback from hiring managers provides WISH with intelligence into which organisations are building diverse teams and where barriers still exist. As a board representative, Sophie can help shape initiatives that benefit women and diversity in social housing.

What This Means for Daniel Owen

Sophie’s appointment reflects our strong presence in the social housing sector and reinforces our commitment to supporting diverse, representative organisations rather than just filling roles.

As part of the WISH South East board, Sophie will help plan events, support mentoring programmes, and extend the organisation’s reach.

We’re proud to support her and excited to see what she and the WISH team achieve together.
