Recently, Kelly Potter, our Business Development Director, spent time supporting Thrive Careers Hub's mock interview session. Working with young people who face real barriers to employment, Kelly helped build their confidence and provided feedback to guide their career journeys.

"Kelly's contribution will be instrumental in their career journeys. Commitment like this really makes a difference and allows us at Thrive to continue to better the lives of young people."

Who Is Thrive?

Thrive Careers Hub is a Liverpool City Region organisation dedicated to supporting young people – particularly care leavers and those facing employment barriers – into meaningful work. In their first year alone, they supported 396 young people, delivered 747 intensive support sessions, and helped secure 23 job outcomes that changed lives.

They operate from a welcoming coffee shop hub, offering free Wi-Fi, laptops, and a safe space where young people can access CV support, mock interviews, employer mentoring, and the kind of personalised guidance that makes a difference.

Why This Matters

Across the UK, 1 in 8 young people are currently not in education, employment, or training. Young people from disadvantaged backgrounds face the steepest barriers. That's why organisations like Thrive exist – to listen, connect, and inspire.

In the built environment and beyond, strong talent pipelines start with investment in young people. When we take time to mentor, encourage, and provide genuine feedback, we're not just helping individuals – we're building stronger workforces and more resilient communities.

Kelly's time with them was a reminder that sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is show up, ask good questions, and believe in someone's potential.
