Daniel Owen are proud to be representing a well-known company based in the North London area who are looking for a highly skilled Building Control Technician to join their team.

Purpose of the Job - Building Control Technician

• Assist with the supervision and management of building control projects to ensure compliance with the Building Act, Building Regulations and associated legislation.
• Carry out plan examinations, review technical drawings and calculations, and provide detailed feedback to applicants and stakeholders.
• Undertake site inspections across a variety of construction projects at different stages of development.
• Identify contraventions and support enforcement activities where required.
• Liaise with builders, contractors, architects, surveyors and other professionals regarding compliance matters.
• Respond to enquiries from members of the public and stakeholders relating to building control matters.
• Support the delivery of service improvement initiatives, fee recovery and performance targets.
• Maintain accurate records and update internal IT systems accordingly.
• Work collaboratively with internal departments and external agencies where necessary.

Requirements:

• Previous experience within Building Control, Building Regulations or Construction Compliance.
• Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and associated legislation.
• Experience carrying out site inspections and reviewing plans/drawings.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently.
• Relevant industry qualifications such as CABE, CIOB, RICS or Registered Building Inspector status are desirable.
