Caretaker

We are looking for an experienced Caretaker in Alton.

Caretaker Duties:

• Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and basic DIY tasks
• Ensure the school buildings and grounds are clean, safe, and secure
• Open and lock the school premises, including setting alarms
• Monitor and maintain heating, lighting, and other facilities
• Support with setting up rooms for events, assemblies, and meetings
• Conduct regular health and safety checks
• Liaise with contractors and oversee on‑site works when required
• Respond to urgent maintenance issues as they arise

Caretaker Requirements:

We're looking for someone who brings a positive attitude and a practical mindset. You don't need to be an expert tradesperson, but confidence with tools and basic repairs is essential.

• Experience working as a caretaker in a school setting
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
• A proactive, can‑do approach
• An understanding of health and safety
• Valid Enhanced DBS
• Own transport is desirable

This position is Monday - Friday
