We're looking for an Electrician to join a long-term social housing maintenance programme, delivered on behalf of the local council.

In this role, you'll carry out a range of electrical repairs and installations across council-owned properties, helping ensure safe, reliable, and well-maintained homes for residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out electrical repairs, maintenance, and installations in occupied and void social housing properties.

  • Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults in domestic environments while ensuring safety compliance.
  • Installing and maintaining lighting, sockets, switches, consumer units, and other domestic electrical components.
  • Conducting periodic inspections and testing (including EICRs) in line with current regulations.
  • Ensuring all work complies with BS 7671 and relevant health and safety requirements.
  • Completing job sheets, certificates, and compliance documentation accurately.
  • Liaising with tenants, site managers, and other trades to support smooth service delivery.
  • Responding to emergency call-outs and urgent repairs when required.
  • Maintaining tools, equipment, and the company vehicle to a high standard.
  • Following company procedures and delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service.

Requirements:

  • Full UK Driving Licence

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations
  • 18th Edition (BS 7671)
  • City & Guilds 2391-52 (Inspection & Testing)
  • AM2
  • JIB Gold Card (or working towards it)
  • Basic DBS Check
