The Role

Daniel Owen are currently recruiting for a skilled Gas Engineer to join a busy and growing team based in Birmingham.

This role involves carrying out planned central heating installations, servicing, and maintenance across social housing properties. This is an initial 12-week temporary position with a strong opportunity to move into a permanent role.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
Pay Rate: Up to £25 per hour (temporary)
Permanent Salary: £36,000 per annum

A company van and fuel card will be provided, covering the South Birmingham area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out day-to-day repairs, servicing, and maintenance on heating systems
  • Complete works within void properties, including refurbishments and renewals
  • Perform cooker point alterations and radiator relocations
  • Aim to achieve first-time fix on all jobs while working within time and budget constraints
  • Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety regulations
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical standards and legal requirements

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Valid Gas Safe Registration
  • Current CCN1 and CEN1 gas qualifications
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong experience in gas servicing and maintenance

Desirable:

  • Additional gas qualifications (HTR1, CKR1, MET1, WAT1)
  • CSCS card and HAPS test certification
  • NVQ or City & Guilds in Heating Engineering or Plumbing
