About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Mobile Commercial Dwelling Engineer to join our growing Commercial Heating & District Energy team, covering Ealing and the surrounding West London area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled plumbing and heating engineer with strong experience working on Heat Interface Units (HIUs) and communal/district heating systems within residential developments.

You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, commissioning and repairing communal heating systems, ensuring residents receive reliable heating and hot water while delivering a high standard of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair Heat Interface Units (HIUs).
• Diagnose and repair faults on communal and district heating systems.
• Commission new HIUs and replacement components.
• Install and replace pumps, valves, radiators and heating system components.
• Diagnose faults on heating controls, including:
  • Y Plan systems
  • S Plan systems
  • Programmers and timers
  • Motorised valves
  • Room and cylinder thermostats
  • Smart heating controls
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs.
• Perform safe electrical isolation and testing of heating controls.
• Balance heating systems to optimise performance.
• Complete digital service reports and maintain accurate records using PDA/mobile devices.
• Manage van stock to maximise first-time fix rates.
• Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota when required.
• Deliver excellent customer service while working in occupied residential properties.

About You

You'll be a qualified plumbing and heating engineer with experience working on communal heating systems and HIUs.

Essential

• City & Guilds Level 2 & 3 Plumbing (or equivalent).
• Formal Water Regulations qualification.
• Minimum 3 years' experience working on communal or district heating systems.
• Strong experience servicing and repairing Heat Interface Units (HIUs).
• Good knowledge of communal plumbing and hot and cold water services.
• Experience fault finding on heating controls and hydraulic systems.
• Understanding of safe electrical isolation procedures.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Desirable

• G3 Unvented Hot Water Qualification.
• Low Temperature Heating Systems training.
• WRAS qualification.
• HIU manufacturer training or certifications.
• Knowledge of communal plant rooms.
• Working at Height, Manual Handling or First Aid certification.
