About the Role
Our client, a leading main contractor, is seeking an experienced and highly capable Pre-Construction Manager to join their team. This is a senior role responsible for leading pre-construction planning and feasibility activities across major, high-value construction projects.
Working within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping project delivery, ensuring programmes, budgets, and procurement strategies are robust, realistic, and aligned with client expectations across complex schemes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead pre-construction planning, feasibility studies, and programme development for major projects
- Work closely with project teams, including design, commercial, and site teams, to align pre-construction activities with project objectives
- Develop and monitor project budgets, schedules, and risk registers during the pre-construction phase
- Produce and maintain accurate reports, including feasibility analyses, progress updates, and programme reviews
- Attend client and stakeholder meetings, providing professional insights and recommendations
- Review and challenge design and contractor proposals to ensure feasibility and compliance
- Contribute to procurement strategies, tender evaluations, and value engineering initiatives
- Ensure all pre-construction activities align with project requirements and contractual obligations
- Support bid and tender stages with programme, cost, and planning input
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
- Proven background working with a Tier One contractor is essential
- Strong experience working on large-scale, complex construction projects
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies, and pre-construction processes
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work to tight deadlines
- A proactive, solutions-driven approach
- Prior experience as a Pre-Construction Manager is essential
