Overview

Our client is a well-established Central London main contractor, recognised for delivering complex, high-quality projects across residential, commercial, and specialist sectors.

With a strong reputation for precision, technical delivery, and long-term client relationships, they operate across a diverse portfolio including high-end refurbishments, CAT A & B fit-outs, and specialist installations.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Intermediate Project Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of the commercial delivery of multiple projects.

The Role

The Project Quantity Surveyor will take responsibility for managing the commercial aspects of projects from instruction through to final account.

Working closely with site teams, clients, and consultants, you will ensure projects are delivered within budget while maintaining strong commercial control and contractual compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Management

  • Administer contracts, primarily under the JCT suite
  • Prepare budgets, cost plans, and financial forecasts
  • Produce interim valuations and manage variations and change control

Procurement & Financial Control

  • Manage subcontractor procurement, packages, and payment processes
  • Monitor project costs, reconcile accounts, and report on financial performance
  • Manage final accounts, warranties, and project close-out documentation

Stakeholder Management

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners
  • Maintain strong commercial relationships and alignment across all parties

Project Support

  • Provide commercial guidance and support to site teams and senior management
  • Assist in driving project performance and profitability

Requirements

  • Degree, HND, or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Proven experience working with JCT contracts
  • Background in refurbishment, fit-out, or high-end residential projects
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction processes
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Desirable:

  • Working towards or holding professional membership (RICS/CIOB)
