Quantity Surveyor/Surveyor (Cladding and Facades)
Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: £50,000 - £75,000 (Dependent on Experience)

A growing property and construction specialist is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding commercial team.

Operating across refurbishment, regeneration, maintenance and construction projects, the business has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across residential, hospitality and public sector environments. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, an opportunity has arisen for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in project delivery.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of multiple projects from inception through to final account.

Working closely with operational teams, subcontractors and clients, you will ensure effective cost control, financial reporting and commercial performance across the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of cost estimates, budgets and valuations.
  • Management of project costs and commercial reporting.
  • Procurement and management of subcontractor packages.
  • Preparation and submission of applications for payment.
  • Assessment and agreement of variations.
  • Cost forecasting and cash flow management.
  • Managing projects through to final account.
  • Ensuring contractual compliance and mitigating commercial risk.
  • Identifying value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Supporting senior management with strategic commercial decisions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction, refurbishment or property services sector.
  • Experience with Schedule of Rates (SOR) works is highly desirable.
  • Experience in Externals projects, including cladding, facades, EWI, Curtain Walling
  • Exposure to local authority frameworks, social housing, refurbishment or regeneration projects would be advantageous.
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Experience managing subcontractor accounts and valuations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification preferred.
