Electrician - Social Housing Responsive Repairs

Location: Covering properties within 90 minutes of Oxford
Hours: Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week + out-of-hours call-out rota
Call-Out: Approximately 1 in every 4-6 weeks (paid separately)
Pay: Competitive salary, paid weekly
Contract: Long-term ongoing work

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrician to join a well-established social housing maintenance team carrying out responsive repairs and maintenance works across occupied residential properties.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a customer-focused electrician looking for long-term, stable work with a reputable contractor operating within the social housing sector.

The Role

You will be responsible for carrying out electrical repairs, maintenance, testing and installations within tenants' homes, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Typical duties will include:

• Fault finding and electrical repairs
• MCB and circuit breaker replacements
• Full and partial rewires
• Emergency and external lighting repairs
• Installation and replacement of switches and sockets
• Shower repairs and replacements
• Smoke alarm installations and maintenance
• Extractor fan installations and repairs
• Electrical testing, inspection and certification
• Completion of all relevant paperwork and certificates
• Using handheld devices/job management systems

Essential Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
• AM2 qualification
• 18th Edition (BS7671)
• 2391-52 Testing & Inspection (or equivalent)
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Ability to pass a DBS check
• Previous experience within social housing, domestic maintenance or responsive repairs
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Experience carrying out testing, inspection and certification
• Excellent customer service skills and experience working in occupied properties
