Electrician, Social Housing Repairs
Location: Stratford-upon-Avon and surrounding areas
Salary: £40,000 per annum plus 5% annual bonus
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
Benefits: Company van, fuel card, power tools and additional on-call payments
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrician to join a well-established property maintenance contractor, working across social housing properties throughout Stratford-upon-Avon and the surrounding areas.
This is a permanent position within a responsive repairs and maintenance team. Travel across the local patch will be required, so a full UK driving licence is essential.
The successful candidate will receive a salary of £40,000, a 5% annual bonus, company van, fuel card, PPE and power tools. There is also an on-call rota of approximately one week in every five to six weeks.
The Role
As an Electrician, your responsibilities will include:
- Completing responsive electrical repairs and maintenance within occupied social housing properties
- Taking ownership of work and aiming to achieve a first-time fix wherever possible
- Installing, servicing and maintaining electrical systems and appliances
- Carrying out electrical installation work in line with current IET Wiring Regulations
- Inspecting, testing and repairing electrical installations
- Completing Electrical Installation Certificates and Electrical Installation Condition Reports accurately
- Carrying out EICRs and associated remedial works
- Completing reactive maintenance work in line with agreed specifications
- Identifying when additional trades are required and reporting this promptly
- Working alongside other operatives to complete works efficiently
- Completing daily worksheets and recording materials used
- Delivering excellent customer service to residents and clients
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification, including 2356 with an AM2 portfolio to support your experience
- City & Guilds 18th Edition qualification
- Previous experience completing electrical repairs and maintenance
- Full UK driving licence with fewer than six points and no recent driving bans
- Ability to pass a Basic DBS check
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Relevant qualification combinations may include:
- City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2, plus NVQ Level 3 Certificate 2356
- Technical Certificates at Levels 2 and 3, plus NVQ Level 3 Certificate
- NVQ Level 3 2356 with supporting AM2 portfolio
Please note that an EAL qualification alone will not meet the essential requirements for this position.
Desirable Qualifications
The following qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential:
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing
- Part P
- PAT Testing qualification
- Unvented Hot Water qualification
- Water Regulations qualification
- Current JIB card and relevant health and safety certification
