Are you an experienced Fabric Maintenance Operative with strong decorating skills and a proactive approach to building maintenance?

We are recruiting for a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established facilities team supporting a prestigious commercial building in the heart of the City of London. This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll take the lead within a small fabric maintenance team, helping to coordinate daily workloads while delivering high-quality maintenance and refurbishment works across a premium office environment.

The Role

Based primarily at a landmark City of London building, you'll be responsible for carrying out a wide range of fabric maintenance and decorating tasks while acting as the main point of contact for maintenance requests from the client's FM team.

Working alongside an existing team member, you'll quickly become the lead operative, helping organise workloads, prioritise jobs, and ensure high standards of service delivery.

The role is predominantly site-based in Central London, with occasional travel to other client locations across London and the South East, including Croydon and Redhill.

Key Responsibilities

• Painting and decorating to a high standard
• Surface preparation, filling, making good and finishing works
• Minor carpentry repairs
• Ironmongery repairs and replacements
• Ceiling tile replacement
• General fabric maintenance and repairs
• Responding to maintenance requests from the client's FM team
• Planning and organising the team's daily workload
• Supporting the wider FM team as required
• Maintaining excellent standards within occupied office environments

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in fabric maintenance within commercial environments
• Strong painting and decorating background
• Competent in general building fabric repairs
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
• Organised with good communication skills
• Professional and presentable manner when dealing with clients
• Flexible approach to working hours and occasional travel
• Own hand tools required
• Full UK driving licence

Working Hours

The current requirement is typically 14:00-22:00, however, there is flexibility around start and finish times to suit the right candidate and business needs.
