About the Role
We are recruiting for a Fabric Technician to join a growing maintenance team supporting a portfolio of commercial buildings across London.
This is a foot-mobile role suited to someone with a strong maintenance background who enjoys a hands-on position and takes pride in delivering high-quality repairs and building upkeep.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend maintenance issues and carry out initial fault diagnosis.
- Complete first-fix repairs where possible and escalate specialist issues when required.
- Carry out minor plumbing repairs, including tap cartridges, valves, TRVs, pipework alterations, leaks and blockages.
- Perform fabric repairs and maintenance, including:
- Doors, locks and ironmongery
- Ceiling tiles and flooring
- Plasterboard repairs
- Filling, sanding and decorating
- Undertake light carpentry works such as installing shelving, cabinets, partitions and bespoke fittings.
- Conduct site inspections and report defects, wear and tear, and remedial works.
- Assist with contractor supervision and ensure work is completed to the required standard.
- Support general building operations, including furniture assembly, TV installations, signage and office fit-out tasks.
About You
- Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities management or construction.
- Strong all-round fabric maintenance skills.
- Basic understanding of plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems.
- Good problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Professional manner and strong communication skills.
- Health and safety conscious.
- Able to work independently and within a team.
Essential Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds Level 2 in a relevant trade, such as:
- Carpentry & Joinery
- Plumbing
- Building Maintenance
- Mechanical Engineering Services
Desirable Qualifications
- Gas Safe Registration
- F-Gas Category I
- Legionella / L8 Water Hygiene
- 18th Edition
- City & Guilds 2391 Testing & Inspection
