Homeownership Services Officer

Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2027 ( strong possibilty of extension)

Key requirements:

  • Experience managing homeownership and residential property transactions - min 3-5 years, ideally within a Housing Association, Local Authority, developer, managing agent, or similar environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of shared ownership resales, staircasing, lease extensions, remortgages, Right to Buy, Right to Acquire, transfers of equity, probate cases, and repossessions.
  • Confident liaising with solicitors, surveyors, valuers, lenders, managing agents, estate agents, leaseholders, and shared owners to progress transactions efficiently.
  • Good understanding of leasehold and freehold property matters, including the ability to interpret leases and manage related enquiries.
  • Knowledge of current housing legislation, particularly:
    • Building Safety Act and Leaseholder Protections
    • Leasehold Reform legislation
    • Landlord and Tenant legislation
    • Residential conveyancing processes
  • Experience processing legal and compliance documentation, including Landlord Certificates, Leaseholder Deeds of Certificate, management packs, LPE1 enquiries, certificates of compliance, and Land Registry-related matters.
  • Strong administrative and case management skills, with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining accurate records and meeting statutory deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience supporting a diverse resident/customer base through often complex and sensitive transactions.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good commercial awareness of the housing and property market and the ability to support sales and marketing activity where required.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to prioritise competing workloads while maintaining accuracy.
  • Strong IT skills and experience using housing management, CRM, document management, or case management systems.

  • Leasehold services/homeownership services environment.
  • Residential conveyancing or property transactions role with exposure to affordable housing/shared ownership products.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the end-to-end administration and management of homeownership transactions while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and providing an excellent service to residents and stakeholders.

Contract: FTC until 31 March 2027 (with potential for extension).
Salary: £43,082 per annum.
Location: North London (hybrid working available).
