Daniel Owen are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Surveyor to join a busy property services team, covering Penge and the surrounding South London areas.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and knowledgeable Surveyor with experience within social housing, property maintenance or responsive repairs.
The Role
As a Maintenance Surveyor, you will be responsible for carrying out property inspections and surveys, identifying maintenance requirements and ensuring works are appropriately specified and progressed.
Key responsibilities:
- Carrying out property inspections and maintenance surveys across Penge and surrounding areas.
- Identifying defects and determining appropriate remedial works.
- Raising and managing repair and maintenance works.
- Preparing specifications and schedules of work where required.
- Monitoring contractors and ensuring works are completed to the required standard.
- Investigating and reporting on property defects.
- Liaising with residents, contractors and internal teams.
- Ensuring works are completed within agreed timescales and budgets.
- Maintaining accurate records and providing reports as required.
- Ensuring all works comply with relevant health & safety, housing and building regulations.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience working as a Maintenance Surveyor, Repairs Surveyor or Building Surveyor within social housing or property maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of responsive repairs and property maintenance.
- Experience diagnosing building defects and specifying remedial works.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to manage your own workload and prioritise effectively.
- A professional and customer-focused approach.
- A full UK driving licence is desirable due to the mobile nature of the role.
