How Barnet Group Generated £1.47 Million of Social Value

Recently the Barnet Group published their 2025-26 Social Value Report, showcasing how local communities benefit when contractors, partners and community organisations share their goals.

The results were clear; The Group delivered social, economic and environmental impact in 2025-26 by strengthening communities, creating local opportunities and supporting residents in their day-to-day lives.

Delivering Meaningful Impact Across Barnet 

This work added more than £1.47 million of value to Barnet communities. That's almost double last year's total.

The impact covers a wide range of work. More than 38 community projects received support this year. Two flagship events took place. Urban Gamez offers free activities for local families. The Annual Community Awards celebrate people making a difference across the borough.

Local employment, apprenticeships and skill development highlight economic value. Contractor partners helped create new job opportunities, apprenticeship placements and work experience programmes.

These projects are key to real social value. They also create jobs for local people straight away.

Why This Recognition Matters

One thing that stood out in the report: The Barnet Group thanked those who backed social value work by choice, not contract.

It praised organisations for their work on employment and skills, noted their charitable donations and event sponsorship and highlighted the support for the Young Barnet Foundation programme.
