Job Title: Electrical Engineer (Level 3)

Location: Central Middlesex Hospital, NW10
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 08:00-17:00
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time


Overview

We are currently seeking a qualified and reliable Electrical Engineer (Level 3) to join the Facilities Management team at Central Middlesex Hospital. This is a critical site requiring a high standard of electrical maintenance, compliance, and customer service to support a live healthcare environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the hospital, ensuring all systems are safe, compliant, and fully operational.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical systems in line with statutory and contractual requirements

  • Maintain, fault-find, and repair single-phase and three-phase electrical systems

  • Undertake maintenance of lighting systems, emergency lighting, power distribution, small power, and containment

  • Complete electrical testing, inspections, and associated documentation

  • Respond promptly to emergency call-outs and faults within agreed KPIs

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, HTMs, and site policies

  • Accurately complete job reports, logbooks, and compliance records

  • Escort and oversee specialist subcontractors when required

  • Communicate effectively with site management, clinical staff, and colleagues

  • Participate in the on-call rota when required


Skills & Experience Required

  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or equivalent

  • Completed recognised electrical apprenticeship

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) - essential

  • Proven experience working in building services maintenance

  • Experience in a healthcare or critical environment is highly desirable

  • Good understanding of PPM schedules and reactive maintenance

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a site team

  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

  • Good IT literacy for CAFM systems and compliance reporting

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
