Maintenance Electrician

Location: West Middlesex University Hospital, Isleworth
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday,

08:00 - 17:00


On-Call Requirement: Participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota with the ability to attend site within one hour


Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Electrician to join a facilities maintenance team supporting a large healthcare site. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical maintenance services, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, KPIs, and health & safety standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor

  • Provide technical engineering support within the Hard FM Services department

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities within agreed timeframes and maintain accurate documentation

  • Respond to reactive and emergency faults, completing remedial works to meet contractual KPIs

  • Undertake reactive maintenance tasks across electrical systems and associated infrastructure

  • Supervise and manage subcontractors as required, ensuring adherence to safe systems of work and permit-to-work procedures

  • Undertake Authorised Person (AP) / Responsible Person (RP) duties for appointed disciplines

  • Participate in the on-call rota to support out-of-hours emergency response


Person Specification

Essential Requirements:

  • Recognised electrical apprenticeship and/or relevant Level 3 electrical qualifications (theory and practical)

  • Proven experience in building services maintenance

  • Strong understanding of health & safety best practice

  • Good IT skills and willingness to undertake cross-skilling training

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Strong planning, organisational, and prioritisation skills

  • Ability to use initiative and sound judgement to resolve technical issues effectively

Desirable:

  • Authorised Person (AP) experience in High Voltage (HV) systems

  • Previous experience working in a healthcare or similar critical environment

  • Formal health & safety training
