Job Title: Site Manager - Fire Door Replacement Program

Location: Birmingham and Coventry, UK
Job Type: Full-Time

12 week programme with potential for extension.

Job Description:

As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for supervising and managing the sub-contract supply chain involved in the replacement of fire doors in occupied social housing properties. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that the project is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of quality. You will be the key point of contact between the project team, subcontractors, and residents, ensuring smooth communication and coordination throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the sub-contract supply chain for the fire door replacement program.
  • Coordinate daily operations and ensure the project adheres to schedules and budgets.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Resolve any issues or delays promptly, maintaining a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with current fire safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, addressing their concerns and ensuring minimal disruption.
  • Liaise with the project team, including architects, engineers, and surveyors, to ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Maintain accurate records, including progress reports, site diaries, and health and safety documentation.
  • Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and residents.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Site Manager, preferably within the social housing sector.

  • Strong knowledge of fire safety regulations and experience with fire door installations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and coordinate complex schedules.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Relevant qualifications in construction management or a related field.
  • Valid CSCS card and SMSTS certification.
