The Client.
An industry-leading Facilities Management business with a large presence in the UK Transport network.

The Issue.
The Transport Director needed to fill a specific role within one of their contracts – an HSQE Manager for a key client of theirs. They had the role advertised internally for quite some time but were struggling to identify someone who met the requirements. Their client was increasing the pressure of them hiring someone that met the calibre and technical knowledge required for the job.

The role itself was specialised and senior – the candidate would need to have previous experience working within a 3rd Rail environment specific to southern England. They would also need to have the skills and knowledge to hit the ground running with the role and implement specific processes to contribute towards the Health & Safety of the contract.

It was essential that we identified the right candidate to manage this contract and the director made it clear that this hire would be imperative to the future of the contract.

The solution.
With our substantial network of candidates, we already knew the ideal individual for the role. An HSQE Manager who was very familiar with the company and had the relevant skills and knowledge to undertake the position.

We regularly kept in touch with the candidate, even though he wasn’t actively seeking a new position. When he was introduced to the role and talked to our consultants, he was keen to be put forward to meet the client.

The Result.
We put the perfect candidate forward for the role and after a number of interviews between our client and theirs, he accepted the position as Health and Safety manager.

The client has now put Daniel Owen onto the PSL for the group which has opened us up to a number of roles within different areas of the business.

“The role was a challenge for our client, but we filled it. Now we fulfill more of their jobs across the sector and they have become one of our key clients, working with them regularly to provide staffing solutions.”
