Caretaker/Handyman

Job Description:
Daniel Owen are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for 2 experienced Caretakers to provide short-term cover across three educational sites in Middlesbrough. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in facilities support, particularly within a school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out general caretaking duties including site security, opening and locking up the premises

• Perform basic maintenance tasks (e.g. minor repairs, checks, and upkeep of internal and external areas)

• Ensure cleanliness and health & safety standards are maintained throughout the site

• Assist with deliveries, moving furniture, and general site support

• Respond to any urgent issues or maintenance requests promptly

Essential Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS check with Child Workforce (must be valid and in place)

• Previous caretaking or facilities experience, ideally within an educational setting

• Reliability, good communication skills, and a proactive attitude

• Flexibility to work different shift patterns as required
