(M&E) Manager - Social Housing (with Electrical & Mechanical Expertise)

Job Type - Full Time

As the M&E Manager will be responsible for overseeing the monitoring, evaluation, and performance of mechanical and electrical services across our residential and commercial property portfolio. This includes domestic and commercial electrical systems, heating, ventilation, plumbing, and related compliance work - with a strong emphasis on improving service delivery and meeting social housing standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor all M&E systems across domestic and commercial properties, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and health & safety standards.

  • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness and performance of M&E services and housing programs.

  • Lead audits, inspections, and performance reviews related to mechanical and electrical installations.

  • Ensure planned and reactive maintenance works are delivered efficiently and meet quality standards.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure consistent service delivery.

  • Use data to produce impact reports, identify service gaps, and inform strategic planning.

  • Drive continuous improvement across asset management, sustainability, and building safety initiatives.

  • Manage budgets, procurement processes, and contractor relationships related to M&E works.

About You:

Essential:

  • Proven experience managing electrical and mechanical systems in both domestic and commercial environments.

  • Strong background in M&E within social housing, local authority, facilities management, or property maintenance.

  • Understanding of compliance requirements such as NICEIC, Gas Safe, and building regulations.

  • Experience developing or working within monitoring and evaluation frameworks.

  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with ability to interpret data and performance metrics.

  • Excellent communication and contractor management skills.

Desirable:

  • Relevant trade or engineering qualifications

  • Experience using asset management systems and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Keystone, etc.).

  • Knowledge of sustainability and energy efficiency measures in housing.
