Company Overview:

We are looking for Pipe Fitters for a well-established mechanical services contractor working across the South East, delivering high-quality installations to commercial, industrial, and public sector clients. Due to continued growth, we are seeking experienced Pipe Fitters to join our team for projects in Portsmouth and surrounding areas including Hampshire, West Sussex, and the South East.


Role Summary:

As a Pipe Fitter, you will be responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing mechanical piping systems. You will work on a variety of systems including heating, cooling, gas, and process pipework across industrial, commercial, and institutional sites.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and assemble metal and plastic pipes, valves, and fittings according to specifications and blueprints.

  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand and power tools.

  • Read and interpret technical drawings and isometric plans.

  • Conduct pressure testing, leak testing, and commissioning support.

  • Collaborate with welders, plumbers, and other site trades.

  • Maintain health and safety compliance at all times.

  • Work both independently and as part of a team on various project sites.

  • Maintain tools, materials, and equipment in good working condition.


Requirements:

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Pipe Fitter (3+ years preferred).

  • Competent in installation of copper, carbon steel, stainless steel, and plastic pipe systems.

  • Strong understanding of site drawings and mechanical schematics.

  • CSCS Card (Blue/Gold preferred).

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Engineering Services (or equivalent).

  • Full UK Driving Licence.

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Willingness to travel across the South East region.

Desirable:

  • IPAF, PASMA, or other relevant site safety certifications.

  • Welding or brazing experience.

  • Experience in pharmaceutical, food, MOD, or process environments.
