Job Title: Property Inspector - Repairs, Damp & Mould
Location: Hertfordshire and Surrounding
Salary: £42,000 per annum

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Property Inspector to join our team, focusing on repairs and the assessment and resolution of damp and mould issues across our social housing stock in Hertfordshire.
You will play a key role in ensuring homes are safe, habitable, and maintained to high standards. Your inspections and recommendations will directly impact the quality of life for residents, ensuring prompt, effective repairs and long-term solutions to recurring problems.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct inspections of social housing properties, with a focus on repair needs, damp, mould, and condensation issues.
Identify the root causes of damp and mould and recommend appropriate remedial actions.
Raise and manage repair orders with contractors and ensure works are carried out to specification, within budget and timescales.
Liaise with tenants to understand concerns, provide guidance on damp prevention, and ensure satisfaction with completed works.
Monitor and report on contractor performance, ensuring compliance with health and safety and service level agreements.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, findings, and actions taken using internal systems.
Provide technical advice to housing officers, tenants, and other departments where required.
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience in property inspections, maintenance, or building surveying, ideally within social housing.
Strong understanding of building pathology, especially relating to damp, mould, and condensation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-first mindset.
Ability to manage workloads independently and prioritise urgent repair issues.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (travel across Hertfordshire required).
Desirable:
HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, or related field.
Knowledge of housing regulations and health & safety standards.
